The Dust Bowl Choir blends old school country grit and blues soul into a sound that feels timeless and deeply spiritual. Their music channels the haunting pulse of the authentic roots music experience—moving, hypnotic, and steeped in the folklore of Americana.

With their uplifting harmonies and dusty guitars, they conjure images of open plains, midnight trains, and stories whispered through the wind. Each song feels like a goodtime revival, equal parts porchlight prayer and juke joint confession. The band’s raw emotion and lyrical honesty create a connection that’s as intimate as it is transcendent—music meant to be felt as much as heard.

The band is the acoustic vocal project of NYC resident and Texan born and raised musician / songwriter Phil Gammage. Joining Phil are a group of extraordinary musicians playing guitar, mandolin, percussion, dobro, fiddle, and harmonica. Oh, and did we forget to mention their beautiful harmonies? It’s good time music exploring the country, blues, and folk traditions.

In addition to Gammage’s stellar original songs, the group performs numerous classic covers. Here’s a short sample list:

  • Wayfaring Stranger (traditional)
  • Railroad Bill (traditional)
  • Ain’t Nothing to Me (Johnny Winter)
  • Orange Blossom Special (Johnny Cash)
